Meleanna Aluli Meyer
Meleanna Aluli Meyer is a prizewinning multi-media artist, educator, filmmaker, author, teacher and community builder, whose paintings and other works are included in all the major collections in Hawai‘i. She graduated from Stanford with Honors in Design/Photography , and has an MA in Education from UH Manoa. A 1992 East-West Center Scholar grantee, APAWLI Fellow, and NEA grantee, Meyer is a Lamakū award recipient for Community service, and Lama Kukui Awardee as a master teacher. She is the author of Arting and Writing to Transform Education, and has written numerous articles on Healing, Wisdom traditions of kanaka ʻoiwi. Meleanna is also a noted filmmaker of numerous documentaries -- Puamana ʻ91; Hoʻokuʻikahi ʻ98; Onipaʻa ʻ96; and Maunakea: Sacred Mountain, Sacred Conduct, ʻ2020.
