Connie Mitchell
Connie Mitchell has been focused on ending homelessness for nearly 15 years as the Executive Director of IHS, The Institute for Human Services. During her tenure, IHS has grown to offer shelter at 9 sites, including medical respite, assertive homeless outreach targeting the most chronically mentally ill homeless individual, and a spectrum of housing programs, as well as establishing service fairs to engage more homeless persons through collaborations with community stakeholders. Connie is a psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and served as the Director of Nursing at the Hawaii State Hospital before she arrived at HIS. She also has a strong passion for justice and advocates cross-sector collaboration for creative and thoughtful solutions.
