Denby Fawcett
Denby Fawcett is a columnist for
Honolulu Civil Beat. She formerly worked at KITV-4-News, the ABC News affiliate in Hawaii. She reported for KITV for 23 years, most recently as chief political editor. Denby has been a news reporter since she was 15 years old, when she wrote a column the
Honolulu Star-Bulletin. She is a graduate of Punahou School and Columbia University and was awarded a John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University. She was a journalist in Vietnam from May 1966 until December 1967 for the
Honolulu Advertiser. She returned to Vietnam in 1968-1969 for two shorter reporting stints. Denby is a co-author of
